What to Expect from the CHI 〰️
The CHI of Geneva is known to be the biggest and most prestigious indoor competition in the world and you know what? It lives up to every bit of its reputation.
The CHI of Geneva is a paradise for fans of top-tier equestrian sport. The show offers a lineup of riders and horses that is unmatched. One of the highlights? The Top Ten Final on Friday night, where the world’s ten best riders go head-to-head in a format unique to this show—it’s an adrenaline-filled class you won’t see anywhere else. Sunday brings the Rolex Grand Prix, part of the Rolex Grand Slam of Showjumping, one of the toughest classes of the year.
But it’s not just about showjumping; the Indoor Cross and the Driving World Cup events add a layer of excitement that you simply can’t miss.
And let’s not forget the crowd, at CHI Geneva their energy is absolutely contagious. The enthusiasm and support from the stands amplify every moment, making the experience even more unforgettable.
If you want to witness the sport at its absolute finest, this is the place to be.
Where to stay
〰️
Where to stay 〰️
The show takes place at the Palexpo, in Hall 7, which is within walking distance of the Geneva airport.
We stayed at the Nash Hotel, which offers two options: Nash Suite and Nash Airport. Both are excellent choices.
During the day, a shuttle service will take you from the hotel to the airport, and from there, it’s just a 15-minute walk to the show. In the evening, the hotel provides direct shuttle service back, making it incredibly convenient. For the price and quality it’s a great option, especially given its proximity to the event.
An alternate, and a tad bit pricier option, is the official show hotel: the Geneva Marriott Hotel. They offer a direct shuttle service from the hotel to the show, no walking needed. From October 31st, the hotel welcomes a Christmas Market “Le Jardin d'Hiver”. Get into the holiday mood with a delicious Swiss fondue, or taste the famous onion soup au gratin!

Best price/quality option ! We recommend you book the breakfast aswell.

The sister hotel to the Nash Airport, located next to it with the same shuttle service. Rooms our bigger, with more light and a tad bit better service.

FOOD

FOOD 〰️
When it comes to food, CHI Geneva has no shortage of options! Stay in the winter mood with a classic Swiss raclette, or grab a quick bite with sandwiches, pizzas, and more. Olivia would recommend you the risotto stand for a warm, hearty meal, while I’d say the cookie stand is an absolute must. That said, we pretty much lived on quiche all weekend and we’re not complaining!
And for those feeling fancy, head to the champagne bar overlooking the warm-up arena. Sipping bubbles while watching world-class riders preparing for the big classes is an experience!

Weather 〰️ What to wear? 〰️
Geneva in December? Expect it to be cold, but don’t worry, the show is entirely indoor and the temperature inside is cozy enough to leave your heavy coats at the entrance. There’s a coat check area, so you can enjoy the event without lugging around extra layers.
